Ellicott, a child six years old, of a remarkably strong, robust constitution, and plethoric habit, endowed with an understanding much above his 'age, and accustomed to use much exercise, on the twelfth of December 1807, had fatigued himself much at play. In the evening he had an ague, which was soon succeeded by an ardent fever, violent pain in the head, restlessness and delirium these symptoms continued till towards morning.
