The Association for Women in Science produced this 350-page "paper mentor" as part of its Mentoring Project. This book, reprinted in fall of 1995, consists of four sections. The first, "voices," includes interviews with 37 individual women in science, mathematics, and engineering, from undergraduates to noted science professionals. The second section of the book identifies the personal and professional challenges common to the interviews in the first section. The third section offers reflections, suggestions, and "how to" information from noted scientists discussing philosophical and gender issues and proffering educational and professional advice. The final section of the book provides an extensive list of nearly 100 scientific feminist and educational organizations--both private and federal--that support women in the sciences, as well as information for women conducting job searches and soliciting letters of recommendation.
