Except for a few passing comments in my books here and there, I've never taken the task of telling the Tom Thomson story. Mostly this is because others far more talented than I, have already done so over the last 105 years since the artist's death on Canoe Lake in Algonquin Park in 1917. But given that so many of the original books have gone out of print, I decided in the summer of 2021, to record a three-part series for my podcast Algonquin Defining Moments. The series focused on Thomson's life as an artist, a mystery and as a Canadian icon, myth and legend. For those interested in reading a 'Best Of' narrative, this book is a transcription of the podcast series that consolidates all of my favorite perspectives on Thomson that I have collected over my lifetime. Enjoy!
