Author Description

When eleven-year-old Paula's parents are killed by a fever that has swept through Texas in 1872, she must face some sudden and sad changes in her life. Paula still has her grandfather Benito, who drives the cattle north to market. Paula and Benito work out a plan that might work, but means more changes and even some danger for Paula.
