Violet, a very small but remarkable hippopotamus turns up out of the blue one day and bounces into the lives of Albert and Mavis Hippo. Before long, Violet causes quite a stir - not because of her size, but because Violet has another un-hippo-like quality: at the drop of a hat she also turns pink.
