This book explores how geography adds to the study of health and considers the numerous links between the two. It considers: Geography and disease, with examples focusing on disease and the environment (malaria) and behavioural disease such as HIV; Geographical disparities in health care, with investigations of the impact of economic development upon human health, together with health issues arising from affluence; Disparities in the geography of health care in countries at different stages of development; Regional disparities in health care in the UK, and why health care varies so much depending upon factors such as education, income and occupation.
