We sin because we’re hurt and we’re hurt because of our sin and the sin of others and it takes a great binding, a great joining, a herculean — some would say God-sized tourniquet to bind us and Humpty Dumpty back together again.In 2019, once more our team of writing students went from the principles of story to fully functioning drafts for a paperback anthology in less than 87 hours. That’s wicked fast for high school students.Their stories this year somehow providentially focused on sin, the harmful effect of sin, and the way that sin can move towards harmony and healing. We have tales of robots, dogs, humans, and dragons in here. Yes, there be dragons.But sometimes, even dragons need to quench the fire that burns within. And even robots seek to help and not to harm.I hope you enjoyed them as I did. And even if you enjoy some more than others, I hope you can see past our blitzkrieg pace of production unto the great heart, mind, and deep soul binding these stories together, creating a harmony of harm and healing the harmartiology of the characters. For really, from our first attempts as tellers until we make our version of the Great Story for the canon, our stories mark the sound of sounders we take crossing this great sound of harm unto the sound health of home.
