Author Description

This publication is an artist's journey through mythology, prehistory and metamorphosis. It covers five decades of Christine Khonjie's works, from drawings, paintings and artist books to embroideries. Zoomorphic creatures, djinns, daemons, goddesses and shamanic self-portraits emerge and populate her works on paper, textiles or objects. With her unique artistic style - reflecting her nomadic life between Iran, France, India and Bahrain - she transports us to her own geography of memories, through her dreams or nightmares, as she takes a voyage of self-discovery.
