The study brings Holderlin and Celan together in a new way by systematically developing the "high tone" from the perspective of a poetic practice of functionalization. In a differentiated reading of their poetological texts and of the "Gesange" and the "Niemandsrose" Nina Janz traces the extent to which the two poets prove to be poetic dialog partners.
