Product Description The Living Word helps youth ministers, parish catechists, and high school religion teachers to meet teens where they are and guide them to a deeper understanding of the Gospel's role in their lives. This model of liturgical catechesis through lectionary readings enhances the liturgical preparation, liturgical participation, and liturgical living of teens. Each session can be easily incorporated into lessons or group activities that have already been planned. Additionally, The Living Word includes digital resources to help the teens reflect and act on the Sunday Gospel throughout the week. Review The Living Word teaches us how to live as missionary disciples of Christ. The content and the process will enrich you personally and as a parish community as you discover or rediscover the Lord's invitation to share his mission. --Anna Dudek, Youth and Young Adult Ministry Formation Program Coordinator, Archdiocese of ChicagoThe Living Word method is flexible and will be the basis of a fine catechesis before Sunday Mass or a fine mystagogy after. 'Reflect on the Word' questions invite teens to be their own theologians by placing their lives in conversation with the Gospel. 'Act on the Word' expands on a central Gospel point in an imaginative and fun way. (Check out the human 'machines' action for the First Sunday of Advent.) The handouts are solid and often mention a book or movie that may illuminate the Scriptures further. This wonderful resource will give experienced youth ministers, parish catechists, and religion teachers who work with teens new ideas. Those who are new to ministry with teens will find they can confidently use this resource as they grow in experience. --Vivian E. Williams, Co-author of LTP's Children's Daily Prayer and contributor to 2017-2018 Children's Liturgy of the WordThe Living Word is a grab and go resource with all you need to help youth draw connections between the liturgical cycle, scripture, Church teaching,
