Product Description This book explores the role of law and legal institutions in economic development. It investigates the period from 1960 to 1995, an era of rapid growth and socio-economic transformation. The study draws on the experience of six Asian countries: the People's Republic of China, India, Japan,Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan. About the Author Katharina Pistor is currently a Research Associate at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Law in Hamburg, Germany and a Lecturer at the Harvard Law School.
