"Inter-faith education is the process by which students of all ages learn about and learn from a range of religions. It is a cognitive, affective and experiential process that has the potential to transform attitudes, and ultimately to promote more inclusive, cohesive and peaceful communities. In the racially and religiously diverse nation of Australia, inter-faith education is no longer a choice for the interested few, but an educational imperative. Establishing this fact, this book outlines essential principles of inter-faith education, including examination of some philosophical positions taken by students and teachers to religions, and provides a constructivist model of inter-faith education that can guide curriculum development and teaching.
