The publication of this anthology is a long overdue tribute to one of the seminal thinkers of our profession. Raymond L. Nimmo, along with his collaborator James Vannerson, was responsible for the paradigm shift which paved the way for the current success of the many chiropractic soft tissue techniques. When Nimmo and Vannerson originally presented the concept of "noxious generative points", later termed trigger points, in the 1950's, they encountered fierce resistance and were branded as heretics for rejecting the sacred "bone on nerve" theory. This resistance continued well into the 1980's. This volume will shed valuable historical light on the evolution of these ideas and on the minds of two of the most brilliant, innovative figures of our profession.
