The postfix "ian" means "to be like". So a Christian is one who is like the Christ. Who is Christ? In the Bible, in Mathew 16:15, Mark 8:29, and Luke 9:20, Jesus asks his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" The disciple Peter answers, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."So the Christ is the Son of God. Jesus throughout the Bible refers to Himself as the Son of God. Romans 8:14 says, "for all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God."So what makes one a Christian, a son of God, is being led by the Spirit of God. To be a Christian, one like the Christ, is to be led by the Spirit of God.If you are an atheist, agnostic, or new to Christianity, such ideas may seem strange to you. How can you be led by a spirit? The Mind of Christ explores decision making and the nature of mind from a Christian perspective.
