This booklet resulted from a participatory process, involving a wide range of stakeholders from Transylvania, with interests in social, ecological and economic issues. What will Transylvania be like in 30 years? This booklet shows that people and ecosystems face potential threats, such as poorly conceived investments by foreign companies that would offer few benefits to local people and could destroy local ecosystems. But there are also exciting opportunities, such as improved marketing of local products and increases in ecological and cultural tourism. One thing is for sure: local people can make a major difference.
