Relive a simpler time. In the late 1950s and early 60s family and friends would gather in on a Friday or Saturday night to visit and gab (TV was not as popular then) and along about dark, someone would start a story. That would lead to another and another until late into the night (some were simply tall-tales--some were outright lies). Nevertheless, I fell love with this type of entertainment and this collection represents some of the stories I tell often. These stories recount the adventures of a group of youngsters growing up in the Appalachian Mountains in the 1960s...tire swings, swimming holes, and summer sleds. The reader will find a ghost story that makes the darkness come alive. Then, the adventures continue into adulthood for a couple more stories. Additionally, no collection of mountain stories would be complete without a fairy tale and a mystery. Settle back and enjoy a return to adventure in a simpler, slower time.
