Jennifer Angus is an installation artist who uses dried insects to create intricate patterns that evoke many associations, including a resemblance to Victorian wallpaper. Featuring over fifteen thousand insects from the artist's personal collection, her wall installations take the form of textile geometric patterns created entirely by pinned insects of various forms, hues and sizes. Angus collects her specimens from Southeast Asia, always careful to purchase from reputable dealers and never using endangered species. Her goal is to public incite interest in the existence of such a wide array of insect life. Jennifer Angus currently teaches at the University of Madison in Wisconsin.
