Recent appreciation for the pervasiveness of unsaturated soils in engineering practice has led to increased interest in unsaturated soil mechanics. Unsaturated soil behavior is important to a broad array of engineering issues, from foundation design and performance to expansive, compacted, and collapsible soils. This compilation of peer-reviewed papers features current practices and research in the analysis and design of geotechnical engineering and geo-environmental works in unsaturated soils.
