A black musician dies of an overdose of nicotine. He was trying to give up smoking and had five Nicoderm patches on his body. The man's daughter, however, has other ideas, she thinks he was murdered in connection with some pirated tapes and she hires the black private eye, CJ Floyd, to investigate.
