This issue contains 15 papers concerned with intelligent vehicle highway systems (IVHS). Specific topics include: a benefits assessment framework; advanced traffic management and traveler information system architectures; safety; achievable capacities and stream stability; autonomous intelligent cruise control; automatic speed monitors; and roadway electrification in a high-occupancy-vehicle facility.
