This volume celebrates the artists and subjects of Britain's Victorian Age. The Victorian era of British history was the period of Queen Victoria's reign from 1837 until 1901. It was a long period of peace, prosperity, refined sensibilities and national self-confidence for Britain. This collection draws on paintings and sculpture from the permanent collection of the Royal Academy of Arts in London, providing an overview of the most important artists of the period.
