Translation and transcription (from text and sound recordings) of Aleut tales and legends collected in northwest Alaska by Waldemar Jochelson in 1909 and 1910. Includes stories from the Aleutian Islands, Fox Islands, Unimak Island, Umnak Island, Atka Island and Attu Island. Includes maps and contemporary photographs, many previously unpublished.
