Author Description

The Reach of Song 2014 is the poetry anthology of the Georgia Poetry Society. It contains the winning poems of the Georgia Poetry Society’s Adult and Youth contests as well as Awards For Excellence member poems. Also included are other member poems accepted for publication. The Adult contests include: The Byron Herbert Reece International Award, The Langston Hughes Award, The Edgar Bowers Award, Founders Award, Mnemosyne Award, Educators Award, and the Anderson Social Poetry Award. The Georgia Poetry Society was founded August 30, 1979, as The Georgia State Poetry Society and incorporated June 11, 1981, in Atlanta. The society became known as The Georgia Poetry Society beginning in 1998. GPS is a member of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies.
