This statutory and case supplement incorporates the newly restyled Federal Rules of Evidence, along with the relevant Advisory Committee's Notes. A side-by-side reprinting of the unrestyled and restyled Rules allows for ready comparison. Editor's notes point out those areas where the restyling project, contrary to its authors' claimed intentions, worked substantive changes in the Rules. This volume also includes proposed amendments to Rules 801(d)(1)(B), 803(6), 803(7), 803(8), and 803(10), together with Advisory Committee's Notes and explanatory editor's notes. A brief case supplement analyzes and incorporates the Supreme Court's ruling in Salinas v. Texas, 133 S. Ct. 2174 (June 17, 2013), which addresses the prosecution's use during its case-in-chief of a suspect's silence in response to noncustodial police questioning.
