Migrants in China make an important contribution to the economy, yet everywhere they go they meet discrimination and rejection. This book looks at their lives. It considers why people migrate, the push and pull factors that operate, and what the migrants gain and lose from the gamble that they take. It looks at the different types of migration and the very different effects that it has on the lives of men and women.
