Larry Brennan had come to Timberlake to deliver six hundred head of cattle to Jeff Halliday, only to find Halliday clubbed to death, and Halliday's nephew the prime murder suspect. Caught in the killing crossfire between ranchers and land barons, Brennan made a desperate bid to save the Halliday ranch and future of the whole valley.
