T cells are crucial to immune response. They are activated when TCR recognizes foreign invader on MHC molecules. Activation of T cells is associated with type II phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns) 4-kinases β. Type II PtdIns 4-kinases play a role in microbial pathogenicity and neuronal signaling. So, understanding of type II PtdIns 4-kinases function, their regulators and signaling events may help in development of rational drug design for immunomodulators and possibly in cancer metastasis.
