In the spring of 2016, construction workers demolishing an old apartment complex in St. Louis pulled a metal lockbox from the rubble. After prying it open, the workers discovered a journal written by an anonymous "Michael" who had allegedly lived there in the mid-1980s. This Calling Master is a transcription of that journal.From rehabbing an old hobby Michael calls "urban exploration" to his daytime existence working in insurance sales to witnessing a murder and seeking vengeance, Michael's life in 1987 provides a glimpse into a life of contrasting light and darkness and shows us how challenging and dark this world can be.
