
Ray Wilson attends his Grandfathers funeral only to discover that the body disappears from the crematorium, he soon discovers that his Grandfather was a man of many secrets. At the reading of the will his mother and him learn of the vast fortune he has left them and the intervention of the police adds more pressure on his mothers fragile mind, she breaks down and has to be placed into care of a doctor Mary Gale.While working at his Grandfathers house he once more is introduced to David Gale the solicitor who now begins to tell him of his involvement with Rays Grandfather and the history they share.Still tyring to come to terms with this news he is shocked when his Grandfather returns to the house, then over a number of days Ray learns of his Grandfathers past and what it now means to him and his future and how it will effect his relationship with his new girlfriend Judith.Now he learns of his Grandfathers time during the war, how he was placed with a group of German soldiers know as the Krazies and how he saved the life of a high ranking S.S. officer who later sends for him to assist in a special mission.The German officer was once a well respected scientist named Herman Vert who's theories on ancient peoples, mainly the Atlantians had come to the attention of Himler and along with another scientis called Otto Rahn who convinced Himler that the Atlantians were in fact the first of the Aryian race and that an expedition should be sent to find proof. After travelling to Tibet they encounter creatures that left only Vert and his Grandfather alive. they were saved by Rahn and his soldiers and they escaped with scrolls and powders from the Atlantian temple they discovered inside a cave complex up in the mountains.After returning to his fellow soldiers he forgets about Vert till once more he was called back to assist one of his causes, here he joined the other soldiers that had been called up and placed into groups of twenty where they were to battle with the other groups
