In this collection of essays from the 1990s and 1980s, Mike Hales explores issues of power in landscapes of design, focusing on computer systems design and development. This is one of a set of three collections - Paid to Think: Doing things with our work that really are different - which examine the place and the practice of 'the professional-managerial class', the facilitating of liberation in the workplace and the production of the heart-mind in global capitalism. Among the topics discussed in this volume are Human Centred Design and Computer Supported Cooperative Work.
