Stewart Snead has a severe case of triskaidekaphobia, or fear of the number thirteen. Even with the protection of a lucky horseshoe, a four-leaf clover, a cross, garlic, and his favorite blue rabbit's foot, year twelve has been pretty bad so far. Convinced his thirteenth birthday will be his last, he puts his affairs in order, writes a will, and says his good-byes. Parents, teachers, and friends do their best to help him, but nothing can stop destiny.
