This research work aims to question the much neglected contribution of the rustic women to build a healthy American society. I have tried to study the works of some selected women writer's from the feminist point of view. I have tried to reflect how gender has marginalized the participation of women, significance of the contribution of women in the building of a healthy hetero-generous society of America, showcase comparative study of the selected heroines and to explore the various narrative techniques adopted by these selected women writers. Questions of gender are taking new significance and they cannot be treated without rethinking about the status of rural women, who are often most exploited.
