Oxadiazole derivatives constitute an important family of heterocyclic compounds. Since many of them exhibit a remarkable biological activity and find wide usage as dyes, photosensitive electrical materials, polymer precursors & stabilizers. Particularly, the 2-aryl-5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles have been reported to show antibacterial, antifungal, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and hypoglycemic activities.
