The Munch Museum, opened in 1963, holds a unique position among museums dedicated to a single artist. In addition to managing an extensive and representative art collection covering the entire range of Edvard Munch's works, the museum also possesses a wide range of other material such as sketches, letters, notebooks, photographs and other documentation of the master's work. In this book some of the museum's professional staff over the years give an introduction to the museum's collections, and present Edvard Munch's life work in a simple and relevant form in the fashion of the Munch Museum which we hope the artist himself would have found suitable. 150 colour & 8 b/w illustrations
