Scarlet ammannia (Ammannia robusta) belongs to the loosestrife family of mainly tropical plants. It occurs in British Columbia on shorelines or alkaline flats in the extreme south-central part of the province. This report describes the general biology of this plant, its habitat, geographic distribution, population size and trends, protection status, factors limiting the population, and the special significance of the species.
