In British Columbia, populations of bearded owl-clover (Triphysaria versicolor subspecies versicolor) are found only on Vancouver Island near Victoria. This report describes this plant's characteristics, general biology, habitat, geographic distribution, population size and trends, protection status, factors limiting growth of the population, and the special significance of the species. Recommendations are made for management of this species and for designation of the species as endangered.
