"Evolution means change. No one disagrees that things change, that things evolve. Darwin saw finches that had evolved from other finches. We see new breeds of dogs arising from other dogs. This book will refer to this kind of evolution as micro-evolution, or m-evolution. The kind of evolution that is disputed is Macro-evolution or M-evolution-the idea that all of life evolved from a single living creature to the variety and complexity of life seen today--apes became men."--Author's note
