In every language, a subset of words are disproportionately represented in written and spoken language. Memorizing high frequency words is the most efficient way to begin learning a new language, as you will quickly be able to recognize many of the words most commonly used in literature and conversation. Your knowledge of the most commonly used words will help you learn your new language faster and build your confidence in learning a new language.
