Author Description

Entropy, like energy, is a concept. It is not something you can hold in your hand. Yet it is the driving force of nature and it can be expressed in several different ways. It applies to astronomy, quantum mechanics, and everything in between. It has application to system design, pattern recognition, data compression, and communication systems. The purpose of this short book is to explain, hopefully in clear language, what entropy is and how to apply it.
