This book contains a comprehensive ten year (1998-2008) health statistics for the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea and is the first of such in-depth report of any province in Papua New Guinea. Credit goes to Dr William Mol and his colleague doctors who have assisted him to produce this very important health data.Accurate health statistics is important for cost effective, quality and result oriented health planning, management and service delivery to the people.The book also becomes a handy health information for tourists especially thosenwho are visiting PNG for the first time.Dr William Mol, MBBS, PhD, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon collected and produced the book while working at Goroka General Hospital in the Eastern Highlands Province as a Specialist Medical Officer specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr Mol has has published a total of 14 peer-reviewed scientific papers in international journals and has contributed to the writing of two text books while studying at Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Hokkaido University in Japan.This is the first manual or handbook that he has authored after returning to Papua New Guinea.
