This book gives a teacher some starting guidance on teaching Mandarin to younger Children. Lessons are especially designed for students whose first language is not Chinese but a Romance language. These children are not used to the sounding of a language that is constructed entirely in monosyllables. One innovative approach of this book is that it has eliminated the "tian-zi grid" ()in Chinese writing practice. The main reason for this is to allow kids to have fun in writing Chinese and not to be restricted. Another unique construction of this book is that the author inserted "Coolligraphy" (a form of using English letters to create a pictorial design) as a tool for mind exercises. Part I of this book has 5 introductory lessons, and Part II lets the student to master 72 vocabularies and the writing of the characters, which will set a good foundation for the student to pursue further studies in the Chinese Language in the future.
