It's 1898, and the bounty hunter called the Alabaster Kid takes a job in Chicago to take out the mob boss, Shinafasto. Alabaster Kid wraps his face in rags to protect his sensitive skin from the sun and to shield himself from the reaction people have over seeing his deformed face. Demon-like with his sharp ears and teeth, his strange eyes and skin, Alabaster struggles through his young life with a personal battle. Why does he look this way? Has God cursed him? IS he a demon? Why does the sunlight hurt so much? Perhaps if he does good, perhaps if he brings evil to justice, he can find some sort of reason for his existence, some sort of proof that he is not evil. He will spend his life reaching for the light, but knowing, even if he finds it, it will burn him.
