My friends keep telling me I should write a book. They like my stories and some even like my points of view. Some like my expertise in professional areas I have undertaken, and some are simply amazed that I can put together strings of coherent thought. Approaching 70 and forever suffering from insomnia, writing is therapeutic. I'd start with a memory on a Facebook post, and it would get conversations going. Everyone has a unique story, but we all have lots in common. Myself--I was adopted and a military brat. I've lived in Turkey, Germany, and Hawaii, Maryland, New York, and Georgia. I've sold everything from guitars to graves. I'm an avid traveler--so you've got some car stories, RV stories, and motorcycle stories. I met Margie when I was 15, and we're still together which is a remarkable story in itself these days. I've always been a builder and a fixer; my friends call me McGiver. Sometimes things went great; sometimes. So I've put together all these stories, chronologically, sort of. I envision this book sitting on the back of your toilet tank. Each story is true. I was really that sick. I was really that lucky. I was really that skilled, and, of course, at times that stupid.
