Study on the collection of letters of Roberto Burle Marx as unpublished and significant front of knowledge of his landscape, botanical, environmentalist, and artistic activity. The work documents and analyzes the active correspondence of the landscaper, written between the 1940s and 1990s and aimed at his family, professionals, artists, institutions, and personalities highlighted in the national and international scene of the time. It reproduces a selected set of correspondance that makes it possible to unveil aspects still little known of Burle Marx work, dealing with the constitution of the old Santo Antônio da Bica Site, the organization of botanical expeditions, the location and collection of new plant species, the perception about the overwhelming growth of environmental aggressions throughout the country, the acquisition and exchange of plants with institutions and professionals in Brazil and abroad, the daily routine of the project work in the office, the dialogues and clashes with public and private clients, among other issues of interest.
