This is a special book for the wanderer to take with him into the field. It is a beginning naturalist's guide to the animals in the Western states that are most commonly observed by the backpacker, the hiker, the bird-watcher, the camper, and the picnicking family. This notebook provides means of identifying the mammals, reptiles, and birds that are mot frequently seen, and the other strange members of unusual species that are of particular interest because they are bizarre or are in danger of extinction.
