Author Description

This text presents an alternative to the larger, 700 page-plus texts available to students. By focusing on a "back to basics" approach, it gives students everything they need to know for future coursework, without excessive coverage. Written at an accessible level, it present the role corrections plays in society within the criminal justice system--without covering the entire criminal justice system. It also deals with the corrections continuum and with community-based corrections.
