Targets issues of skills and knowledge, gender and equality, employment and work, and the labour market and social governance in the policy debates. Explains the need for multilevel governance, with particular reference to the responsibility of supranational institutions such as the EU to use their regulatory power to mitigate inequalities. Carried out in the framework of the European Commission's project on Work Organization and Restructuring in the Knowledge Society (WORKS).
