A new mental health cadres in Timur Hamlet focusing on prevention programs has been established. The existing cadres had been overwhelmed with running the program and had little knowledge about mental health or how to detect it. Psychoeducation in mental health and the formation of new young mental health cadres, the design of new detection tools plus training to use these tools, and networking were successfully conducted in Timur Hamlet. Results of the program show an enhancement of cadre mental health knowledge, a new youth cadre with program planning and access to the easier to use tools for detecting mental health problems, collaboration with stakeholders, available funds from the village towards mental health programs, and several other positive implications. However, the passivity of the local people is still a challenge for this intervention. Continuous follow ups in a certain period of time needs to be conducted, so that motivation, action, and execution of these programs is maintained.
