Author Description

The exhibition is a complex installation based on a kind of journal that Chávez (b. Mexico) wrote concerning the way his encounters with the world and his feelings about them always refern back to systems of images, and how these images are in turn translated into artistic knowledge, reasserting and transforming each encounter. The exhibition is of great inellectual complexity and the exhibition is actually a book, a manual for the simultaneous construction of an aesthetic discourse and a variety of montages. Exhibition was originally presented in Quebec City as part of foreign artist residency program.
