
The study identified 38 Canadian community colleges anduniversities that offer programs in the foodservice andhospitality technology. A combined mail and telephone survey wasconducted to determine the extent that topics in the energymanagement field have penetrated the curricula at theseinstitutions. Results indicate that none of the institutionspresently have a course that concentrates specifically on energymanagement in the foodservice-hospitality industry. However, several administrators-instructors indicated that such topics aselectrical demand cost control as well as energy conserving foodprocesses and equipment were discussed within present programs.
